As an Oscar-winning stop-motion animation professional with credits including “Coraline,” “Kubo and the Two Strings,” and “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio,” among others, Lars brings world-class animation and filmmaking education to the Gem State.

Lars has collaborated with the Kessler Keener Foundation and the Mentor Artists- MAPP program to provide media arts education to TRIO Upward Bound at BSU, the Shoshone-Bannock tribes in Duck Valley, and the Coeur d'Alene tribal communities. He is currently developing STEAM-based educational curricula within the Boise School District with support from the Boise Public Schools Foundation. Based at the Idaho Film Society's Greyhound station, he provides continual educational programming to the Boise area through workshops, lectures, and screenings in partnership with community-based arts organizations, including the Idaho Film Society, LED, JUMP, and The Common Well.
