What We Offer
THE IFS STATION
The IFS Station Movie Theater (along with our ten curators) hand-pick films from around the world and across genres three days a week. All screenings feature a variety of discussions, special guests, and Q&As to grow and expand our appreciation for diverse cinema in Boise.
THE IDAHO FILM DIRECTORY
A free, statewide resource built to connect filmmakers, crew, and creative professionals across the Gem State. The directory is open to all and designed to grow Idaho’s film economy from the ground up.
WORKSHOPS
Hosting workshops and masterclasses for filmmakers of all experience levels and ages. We’ve reached nearly 400 students and counting!
FILM + GEAR RENTAL FACILITY
No longer will Idaho productions have to drive to Salt Lake City or Portland for gear pickups. With our on-site rental facility, we can keep production costs down and tied to Idaho.
PRODUCTION SOUNDSTAGE
Our production stage will be the largest in Idaho. Fit for all manner of production sizes; from student films to larger agency shoots.
EVENT SPACE
As a hub for community, we’ve hosted 87 events in the converted Greyhound Bus Station we call home. Partnering with local businesses, non-profits and filmmakers to host Fundraisers, film premieres and more
NEXT STEPS
EXPANDING EDUCATION
Alongside our workshops and masterclasses, we plan to expand into internships and apprenticeships for budding filmmakers to shadow and learn from industry specialists.
EQUIPMENT EXPANSION
While we have an extensive collection of filmmaking equipment, we’re looking to expand our available equipment for post-production needs. Including computers and editing software.
HIRE MORE STAFF
As the Idaho Film Society continues to grow, so do our staffing needs! We seek to hire a dedicated Development Director, Finance Director, and Station Manager to assist with in our day-to-day operations and future growth.
FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we have the ability to offer fiscal sponsorship to approved Idaho-based film projects that both support the Idaho Film Society’s mission and are actively seeking project funding.
STATEWIDE IFS CHAPTERS
We’re looking for a recreational vehicle to take us on tour to connect and collaborate with filmmakers across the Gem State to establish chapters of the Idaho Film Society.
DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
We’re building a network of all 66 independent cinemas across the state to ensure that local film can reach local audiences and provide backing / infrastructure for working filmmakers year-round.
