IFS and the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre present a rare cinematic experience: Teinosuke Kinugasa’s 1926 silent fever dream A Page of Madness, performed with a live benshi narrator and original score. Benshi were performers who provided live commentary and translation for silent films in Japan, influenced by kabuki and other theatrical traditions.
Co-presented with the University of Idaho’s Habib Institute for Asian Studies and the Idaho Humanities Council, this one-night event resurrects one of Japan’s most electrifying films as it was meant to be seen and heard.
Tickets: $20 / Members $15.
